4.9.12 "Do Wonders!"

"Do Wonders!"

Deuteronomy 33:1-29
Luke 13:1-21
Psalm 78:65-72
Proverbs 12:25

We know we are a part of the Body of Christ. Each of us have some understanding of how a body functions. In Ephesians 4 it says, "as each part does it's work." Sometimes we get the impression that it is a lot of "work" to be effective in the Body of Christ. That's not necessarily true. When Ephesians says "as each part does it's work", it means that "when everyone is doing what they were created to do."

We are created to be in Relationships Devoted to Unity. We need one another. Sure, there are times when there are "profound" and "great works" that need to happen, but more often then not, the greatest thing we can do for one another is actually quite simple!

"Anxious hearts are very heavy but a word of encouragement does wonders!" Prov. 12:25 The NLT says, "Worry weighs a person down; an encouraging word cheers a person up."

We are surrounded by anxious people. Not just in the workplace, but within the Body of Christ. Think of the last person who encouraged you, and how much that did to equip you to carry on.

There are so many times we can get tired, discouraged, and just want to hang it up. It's amazing what a few words can do to change the environment. I can't tell you the number of times that individuals have encouraged me at JUST the Right Time! It truly does wonders!

This should be the culture of those who walk in fellowship with other believers. We should all be encouraging one another, working together. In "the Message", I Thes. 5:15 says, "And be careful that when you get on each other's nerves you don't snap at each other. Look for the best in each other, and always do your best to bring it out." It's not "if" you get on each other's nerves, it's "when"! But look for the best in each other. When you do that, it humbles you, and your nerves aren't so easy to get on.

You may have an anxious heart to day. What you may need to do to lift your spirits is begin to look for others who you can encourage. Spread the light of encouragement today. Seek others out. Who would the Lord place on your heart? Speak the words of life!

Do Wonders!
