Jesus is coming soon.
We have a Mission to Reach our World for Christ.
When Jesus returns, it's not going to be like a movie where they see a comet coming and you've got 24 hrs. That's not the case. It could be this very moment. You might not even get this email.
"[When I return] the world will be [as indifferent to the things of God] as the people were in Noah's day. they ate and drank and married - everything just as usual right up to the day when Noah went into the ark and the flood came and destroyed them all. And the world will be as it was in the days of Lot: people went about their daily business - eating and drinking, buying and selling, farming and building - until the morning Lot left Sodom. Then fire and brimstone rained down from heaven and destroyed them all. Yes, it will be 'business as usual' right up to the hour of my return." (Luke 17:26-30)
We need to live with the urgency that it could be right now. Yesterday I spent some time visiting with a man who walks our neighborhood every day. He knows everyone in the whole subdivision. He said, "I never would have thought in my whole life you would see so many different walks of life in one subdivision. You've got, Muslims, Seikhs, Hindus, homosexuals, Black, white, Hmong, Mexican, Doctors, Lawyers, Teachers, all in one place." As he was talking I was thinking about how the Lord has brought the world to our door. While your neighborhood may not be as diverse as the one I'm in, there are people near you who need to know Christ.
To reach my community, I need to continually develop an intentional relationship with them. I should care for them when they need it. I should ask if I can pray for or with them when they're going through hard times.
I can't wait until the emergency broadcast beeps on my tv to tell people about the saving knowledge of Christ. I need to do it now. Because it could be any moment.
Through the Power of the Spirit,
Live the DREAM!
